Ragdoll Cat Colors & Patterns
ragdolls, ragdolls for sale

All true Ragdolls are a pointed breed and only have blue eyes.  Ragdolls are available in different colors and patterns.  Ragdoll cat colors are Blue, Seal, Chocolate, Lilac, Red/Flame & Cream. Ragdoll cat patterns are Mitted (may have a white Blaze), bicolor, colorpoint, and the Ragdoll pattern may also have lynx striping and tortie markings. A tortie Ragdoll cat is mottled with red and/or cream on their point color. A torbie Ragdoll cat is mottled with red and/or cream AND also has lynx striping.  We breed blue, seal, red, lynx and tortie colors and patterns.  We do not breed lilac or chocolate at this time.

Ragdoll Patterns
Ragdolls are slow to mature and do not reach full color and weight until 3-4 years old.

COLORPOINT
(click on pattern above for additional info/photos)
The ears, mask, feet and tail to be darker, with well-defined color. Nose leather and paw pads are fully pigmented and match the point color. There is a definite contrast between body and points, chest, bib and chin areas may be somewhat lighter in color.

  Pattern:  "Colorpoint"
COLORS:  LEFT: Seal Colorpoint Ragdoll Kitten    RIGHT:  Blue Colorpoint

MITTED
The legs (except for feet), ears, mask, and tail are well-defined with the point color. The front feet have white mittens on both feet. The back legs what white boots which go up to and around the hocks entirely, extending no higher than mid-thigh. May have a white blaze on nose or between eyes. Chin must be white and extend into white belly stripe. The nose leather is fully pigmented and matches the point color. The paw pads are pink but may show minor spotting of color corresponding to point color. There is a definite contrast between body and points. There should be a white belly stripe, varying in width from the bib, between the forelegs down the midline of the underside of the cat. Soft shadings of color are allowed on body.

BICOLOR
(click on pattern above for additional info/photos)
The Bicolor also has dark points, but the mask has an inverted "V" extending between the eyes to the muzzle. Symmetry preferred. The nose leather on a Ragdoll Cat is pink.  The body color is white with a "saddle" on the back, which has a white area in the middle. The chin, chest and underside of the Ragdoll is white. The upper body may show white spotting. The legs and feet are preferably white. May have minor dark spots. The paw pads are pink, but a mixture of colors on paw pads acceptable. When determining color, point color of ears is the deciding factor.  See Blue Bicolor and Seal bicolor.

Pattern:  "Bicolor"
COLOR:  LEFT:  Seal Point Bicolor kitten      RIGHT:  Blue Bicolor kitten

Mid-high white bicolor  has a broader "V" on the mask. Sometimes a breakthrough spotting on the legs. The amount of white varies. Mid-high wites can be shown too if they have a good "V" and no white in tail and ears.

High white bicolor/van  has usually no "saddle" on the back. The "V" on the mask extends almost up to the ears. This pattern can sometimes be shown as a "van" if the cat is marked like a Turkish Van cat.

High mitted  is a mitted with two mitted genes instead of one. There is often a little breakthrough spotting on the limbs, but otherwise high mitted looks like a bicolor. If the pattern fits the bicolor standard, a high mitted can be shown as a bicolor. Most breeders in the U.S. work with high mitted bicolors bred from two mitted Ragdolls.

Lynx Ragdoll Cats
(click on pattern above for additional info/photos)
The Lynx Ragdoll (or Tabby) has beautiful striping or ticking on the points.  There are Lynx mitted, lynx colorpoint, lynx bicolor.  Torties that have the lynx striping are called Tortbie Ragdolls.

TORTIE & TORBIE RAGDOLL CATS
(click on pattern above for additional info/photos)

Torties are very unique pieces of artwork and are my favorite!!

Torties and Torbies are always female.  Torties are very similar to calico cats with splashes of red or orangish color.  No two torties are alike. Torbies are the same as Torties with the exception that Torbies have Lynx Striping.  Torties and Torbies (striped) come in all 3 patterns - bicolor, mitted and colorpoint.

Right:  Seal Tortie Bicolor (Sienna)
Bottom:  Seal Colorpoint Tortie (Autumn)
These torties are young and they will develop some orange as their color develops.

TorBie Ragdolls
The Torbie Ragdoll is the same as a Tortie with the exception that Torbies have Lynx Striping.  Torbies can be bicolor, mitted and Colorpoint patterns in blue or seal.
(we do not currently have a photo of a Torbie)

Ragdoll Cat Colors
All true Ragdolls are born white and will slowly develop color as they grow.
Full color is achieved by 3 years of age.
